I like New York in June, how about you?

Hello friends, how have you been? If you ask me at this minute, I will say I am exhausted! But I also feel SO VERY ALIVE! When I said things were back in full speed, I really meant it!

It’s wonderful to see the East Coast in full bloom again. So many amazing things are going on and it feels GREAT to be a part of it. In the last month alone, I was involved as a performer in 4 concerts, 2 company parties, 2 modeling sessions, 2 fundraisers, 3 school teaching gigs, 2 weddings and had the chance to attend 5 concerts, 2 Swing dances, a cruise on the Hudson river and 2 backyard parties as a guest, all the while working full time from home as a translator. I was even able to visit my family in Montreal for a hot second! Don’t ask me where I find the time or the energy because the answer might not satisfy you…

Like I said: I am exhausted! Completely. Utterly. Exhausted.

But I am not complaining! The work is very welcome and honestly, very gratifying too. However, between the traveling, performing, translating, practicing, computing and organizing, there’s not much time left for a personal life… It’s ok though; there has been plenty of time for that during the last 2 years!

I realize it might not be sustainable but it feels amazing to be booking my own work, and have a solid enough network to receive inquiries for such interesting and diverse events, occasions and activities. Things have been tough, yes, but as so many performers know, we held on and now are rejoicing again.

In looking at my upcoming schedule, I notice it’s going to be as eventful (if not more!) as it’s been so far and you know what? I am very appreciative. I do hope to be able to throw a little more hiking, cycling and beach going in the mix. I truly look forward to seeing you at some of the fun public events I have coming up, particularly this one:

Myriam Phiro’s Bastille Day celebration at Joe’s Pub (July 14th, 7pm)!

Please mark the date on your calendar. It will be amazing to celebrate all things French with you in the company of my gypsy Jazz band Nuage Rhythm for one of the best shows in NYC on Bastille Day! Songs by: Charles Trenet, Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, and many more of France’s national musical treasures will be featured at this fête. Select anecdotes & stories from my favorite French artists (and yours truly!) will be at the rendez-vous, along with some very special guests! So, bring your joie-de-vivre and get ready to celebrate with me!

Until then, take good care of yourself and your loved ones. Take some times to relax and smell the flowers. I look forward to seeing you very soon!

BisouXx
