Autumn in New York...

Why does it seems so inviting? (Did you know I recorded this song?! Feel free to check it out here)

As the various signs of Autumn begin to reveal themselves, such as colorful foliage in a precocious tree amongst the forrest, or a chilly gust of wind caressing one’s cheeks in the morning, I am daydreaming about what a wonderful season Summer has been. It was certainly wished for by many!

The enthusiasm and welcoming energy everyone seemed to show regarding gatherings featuring live music was inspiring. Fortunately, I have partaken in many celebrations, festivities and events, which have filled me with so much joy, purpose and acceptance. I am an artist at heart and even though questions of self arose during the 2-year lockdown, never have I doubted this simple affirmation, which has been reiterated many a time this Summer alone. Please feel free to watch the replay of our Bastille Day concert at Joe’s Pub, which was certainly a highlight!

Experiences in nature were also bountiful, particularly during the last two weeks of August when my journey took me along the St-Lawrence river to one of my favorite places on Earth: beautiful Le Bic, up in Northern Québec. It was wonderful to reconnect with my family and experience the great outdoors, a tradition we’ve cherished together as far back as I can recall. This year was even more meaningful, as it was my first visit since pre-pandemic times, and oh how I had missed it! Judging from the pictures, you can hopefully see why ;)

While it is true that my experience with Covid wasn’t exactly a walk in the park, it could have been so much worse. I am very thankful for science and I feel stronger than ever now.

In closing, I’m very much looking forward to all things Fall. The thought of wearing a cozy sweater, of admiring the beautiful landscapes developing before our eyes, enjoying the already-appearing Halloween decorations and delighting in pumpkin-spiced everything is oh so very appealing! I’m also very excited for many fun gigs ahead, in particular the Wine & Food Festival during which Nuage Rhythm will perform in the “Grand Tasting” tent Oct 14-16. Additionally, I’m incredibly honored to begin teaching little ones through my friend Oran’s Timbalooloo Program, which is truly one of the finest musical curriculums for small children. Fun times ahead!

And you, how was your Summer?
